Hazardous Material That Shouldn't Be Used For Dryer Vents

In the video, you'll see slinky, vinyl materials that were incorporated into a dryer vent system. This material is dangerous to use for a couple of reasons:
1. The ridges collect lint that can lead to a dryer vent clog.
2. The material is not rigid, allow for dips and droops to occur. Lint collects in these areas, again leading to clogs.
3. Lint is highly flammable and a fire can start as hot air builds up in the line due to restricted airflow. The plastic venting will burn instead of helping to contain the fire.
